ADM Announces Contribution to Missouri Farmers Care to Help Combat Childhood Food Insecurity
Support to provide equivalent of 500,000 meals to food-insecure Missourians
ADM, a global leader in sustainable human and animal nutrition announced today a contribution to support Missouri Farmers Care Foundation’s (MFCF) efforts to alleviate childhood hunger while highlighting Missouri agriculture. With this support, ADM and Brownfield Ag News are serving as presenting partners for the 2022 Drive to Feed Kids. The generous support provided by ADM will provide the equivalent of 500,000 meals to food insecure families throughout Missouri.
“ADM’s partnership in the Drive to Feed Kids is an investment in the future of Missouri,” said Ashley McCarty, Missouri Farmers Care Foundation Executive Director. “The Drive partners are committed to standing in the gap to help provide food children need to be prepared for success. We are honored that ADM has joined Missouri agriculture as a leader in this endeavor.”
Since its inception in 2017, the Drive to Feed Kids has raised 8,765,470 meals for our food-insecure Missouri neighbors while highlighting the strength and heart of Missouri agriculture. With one in seven children in Missouri lacking access to enough food, the need for partnership and donations is significant for the well-being of Missouri children.
“Though ADM Cares, we are committed to addressing food insecurity issues as well promoting sustainable agriculture practices, and this is a great way for us to do both,” said Jennifer Ballinger, Director, ADM Cares. “ADM is committed to supporting the communities where we live and work, and we are pleased to announce this support in the state of Missouri where we have significant operations and employees.”
The Drive to Feed Kids is a year-round effort of Missouri farmers, ranchers, agricultural businesses and organizations to raise awareness and resources to address food insecurity in our state. Through meal-packing events, contributions of food products, pork processing and monetary donations, the agriculture community provides support to food banks serving food-insecure Missourianss. The Drive to Feed Kids annually kicks off in January with the 4-H Feeding Missouri campaign and continues with Hogs for Hunger. The effort culminates in August at the Missouri State Fair, with packing events and recognition of the 2022 impact.
